Cruisers and Crew
My plans and my actual returns to Chicago are not quite in sync these
days, so I've learned my lesson not to even advertise my presence in
Chicago ahead of time. Labor Day was prohibitively expensive to fly, I
had just moved in to my apartment and needed to put things away, and it
turns out it wasn't really sailing weather anyway. I took a chance and
flew standby last night and after three attempts in two airports made a
flight and landed in a perfect late summer/early fall weekend in
Chicago. Fall is my favorite time to sail. Something about the quality
of light a coolness of the air is magical.
If you are free for mid to late Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning let
me know. I'm going to try for sunrise but can also sail a bit later.
Need to be off the water by 1:00pm Sunday.
I'll need to take the mast down on Columbus Day weekend at the latest,
possibly sooner if I can get back another weekend. Let me know if you
are willing to help.
Enjoy the weekend with or without the Sloop and I!
